mondern adonises

so here are my paintings i had showing for the Fat City WildCat party, contortions and glistening reflections.
i wanted to explore the notion of the contemporary self portrait and the role it plays in promoting oneself as a sexualized entity. in painting these figures (that were found on various gay internet dating/hook up sites) i wanted to debunk the assumed veil of privacy the internet provides and compare the amount of contrivance in these poses to that of a painted image.

so if your a beautiful gay man with naked photos of yourself on the internet, watch out!... or just make it easier on the both of us and send them my way ;)
